About our work experience
Our work experience is for students in years 10 to 13 (or equivalent), local to our headquarters site in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire. We offer two schemes:
Engineering
- Design and build a concept model
- Learn about Renishaw's product development process
- Gain a greater understanding of what a career in engineering entails
- Work alongside our engineers
Software
- Develop a programme as part of a software team
- Learn coding and network communication skills
- Design and test your software against a brief
- Plan and achieve your goals using AGILE techniques

Unlike most companies who offer a job shadowing experience, at Renishaw all of our work experience schemes are project based rather than traditional shadowing and will help you to develop key employability skills that will help prepare you for the world of work.
Our 2024 work experience programme
Applications for our 2024 work experience programmes for students in years 10 to 13 (or equivalent) are now closed.
All applicants should now have received information regarding whether they have gained a place. If you have not heard back regarding your application, please contact education@renishaw.com
Duration: 4.5 days (with an earlier finish on Fridays).Timings: 9am – 4pm (finishing at 12.30pm on Fridays).
You must be available on all of the dates specified for any week that you select.
We have 66 places in total, spread across 2 different weeks:
Engineering
Gloucestershire – Monday 8th July to Friday 12th July (onsite)
Software
Gloucestershire – Monday 15th July to Friday 19th July (onsite)
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any placements outside of these dates.
Location
Our work experience weeks will involve you travelling to our Gloucestershire site in Wotton-under-Edge.
